Mei / May
After navigating two distinct cultures, I portray myself as two different individuals: Chinese Mei and Canadian May. Sitting side by side, they communicate through “cell phones,” trying to understand who they are and where they belong. Yet no clear answer emerges—and perhaps, it no longer matters. Identity becomes a fluid conversation, a continuous loop in which one generation responds to the experiences of the one before.
