Xiangmei Su is a multimedia artist originally from China and currently based in Vancouver, Canada. Her interdisciplinary practice involves painting, photography, video, and installation, with thread as a symbol of memory, migration, and the invisible connections that link people and place.

STATEMENT

My art navigates the emotional and cultural spaces between past and present, tradition and transformation. Born in Suzhou—a city rich in textile history, classical aesthetics, and inherited rituals—and now living in Vancouver, I carry the threads of two worlds. These threads, both literal and metaphorical, have become the foundation of my artistic language.
