ARTIST STATEMENT

My practice investigates how memory, landscape, and material shape our understanding of home and belonging. Rather than treating place as a fixed geography, I am interested in how it is continually reconstructed through migration, lived experience, and cultural memory.

Thread forms the foundation of my visual language. Stretched between pins, it becomes a drawing material that records movement, connection, and time. Repetition is central to my process. Through the slow accumulation of lines, I construct spaces where memory and place intersect, allowing personal narratives to expand into broader reflections on identity and cultural experience.

Working across installation, thread on canvas, painting, photography, and video, I explore the relationships between material, landscape, and perception. My works do not seek to document specific locations; instead, they create spaces where remembered places, imagined geographies, and emotional landscapes coexist. I am interested in how acts of making can transform fragments of experience into shared spaces of reflection, inviting viewers to reconsider how home is continuously shaped through memory, movement, and connection.
